Occupational Health Risk Assessment
Healthy Mining goes beyond the normal hazard identification, risk assessment and controls approach to include concepts such as Risk Based Medical Surveillance and Fitness to Work. The objective is a healthy, safe and productive workforce.
Health Impact Assessment and Management Plans
Healthy Mining has undertaken project Health Impact Assessments and provided Health Management Plans in Ghana, Mali, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Colombia.
Emergency medical care
Healthy Mining has considerable experience in assessing emergency medical risks on mining sites and advising controls (including Medical Emergency Response Plans, staffing and equipment).
Establishment and oversight of project medical services
Occupational health risk assessment (employees) and health impact assessment (community) informs project health service requirements. Healthy Mining is able to assist in the establishment and oversight of appropriate health services both on project site and within the community.
Review of Health Services - on site & in the community
Healthy Mining is able to review health service delivery, both on site and in the community: Is the health service appropriate; is the health service managing all the identified health risks and are cost controls evident?

Occupational Lung Diseases (OLD)
In the South African mining context the most important OLD are silicosis, silico-tuberculosis and chronic obstructive airways disease. Healthy Mining is able to advise on all aspects of OLD risk management.
